Founder & Co-CEO

Veronica Lugo

I serve as the Co-Chief Executive Officer of Luminous Mind, LLC and Luminous Mind Foundation, where I lead operations, program development, and organizational growth. With over eight years of leadership experience in management roles, I have developed strong expertise in accounting, operations, and billing, allowing me to build efficient systems and support high-quality service delivery.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Health Management and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Accountancy. I am deeply passionate about advancing Luminous Mind’s mission to support individuals and families through accessible, community-based behavioral health services. I am committed to strengthening our programs, ensuring operational excellence, and creating meaningful impact within the communities we serve.

Founder & Co-CEO

Dr. Marcos Peña, EdD, LCSW, LADAC.

I am a dedicated and compassionate therapist with extensive experience supporting individuals through a wide range of challenges. In my role at Luminous Mind, I provide clinical leadership and supervision, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care across our programs.

I specialize in working with individuals facing concerns such as anxiety, depression, substance use, anger management, family conflict, grief, and life transitions. My approach is centered on creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences, build resilience, and work toward meaningful change. As a Doctor of Education (EdD), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) in Texas and New Mexico, I am committed to helping individuals and families achieve healing, growth, and long-term well-being.

Chief Operating Officer

Cynthia Rosales

I serve as the Chief Operating Officer at Luminous Mind, where I bring strong leadership experience and a deep passion for advancing community-centered mental health care. In my role, I focus on strengthening operations, supporting program growth, and ensuring that our services remain accessible, effective, and responsive to the needs of the communities we serve. I am committed to promoting trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches that create inclusive and supportive environments for individuals and families. I am currently pursuing my studies in Social Work, further strengthening my ability to serve and advocate for those in need. I am dedicated to building meaningful connections, enhancing service delivery, and making a lasting impact on the lives of those we support.

CCSS Manager

Susana Esparza

I serve as the CCSS Coordinator at Luminous Mind, where I support the coordination and delivery of community-based services to ensure individuals receive the care and resources they need. I bring extensive experience in navigating community resources and connecting clients to essential supports that promote stability and well-being.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, which has strengthened my understanding of behavioral health and client-centered care. I am passionate about advocating for individuals and helping them access the services necessary to improve their quality of life and achieve their goals.

Credentialing Specialist

Abigail Martinez

I serve as the Credentialing Specialist at Luminous Mind, where I support our providers by ensuring all credentialing, licensing, and enrollment processes are completed accurately and efficiently. My role is essential in making sure our clinicians are fully prepared and able to deliver high-quality care to the communities we serve. I bring a strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for supporting our team behind the scenes. I take pride in maintaining compliance, streamlining processes, and helping create a smooth and reliable system for both our providers and organization. I am dedicated to contributing to a strong foundation that allows our clinical team to focus on what matters most, providing compassionate and effective care to our clients.

Riley McFarland

Riley McFarland is a Master of Social Work (MSW) intern focused on supporting clients through strengths-based and culturally responsive care. Under the supervision of Dr. Marcos Peña, EdD, LCSW, LADAC, Riley is building practical experience in behavioral health services. We are excited to have Riley join our team.

Ana Soto

Ana Soto is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) intern passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and improve their mental health. Under the supervision of Dr. Marcos Peña, EdD, LCSW, LADAC, Ana is expanding her clinical experience while providing compassionate care. We are excited to welcome her to our team.

Marlett Garcia

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a strong passion for supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. I bring experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across a variety of settings, providing compassionate, client-centered, and trauma-informed care. I specialize in areas such as anxiety, depression, substance use, family conflict, and life transitions. I am trained in evidence-based approaches including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Brainspotting, which allow me to support clients in processing trauma and building resilience. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, and I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, empowered, and supported in their journey toward healing and growth.

Melina Hernandez

Melina Hernandez is a compassionate and dedicated CCSS Case Worker at Luminous Mind, LLC. She is certified to provide Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS) and is committed to helping individuals build the skills and confidence needed to achieve greater independence and overall well-being.

Melina works closely with clients to develop individualized recovery plans, coordinate care, connect them with community resources, and provide ongoing support tailored to their unique goals and needs. She is passionate about delivering person-centered services that empower individuals to overcome challenges, strengthen daily living skills, and make meaningful progress toward long-term success.

CCSS Case Manager

Paola Guzman

Paola Guzman is a dedicated and compassionate CCSS Case Worker at Luminous Mind, LLC. She began her career with the organization as a Home Visitor, where she provided family-centered services using the evidence-based Parents as Teachers (PAT) curriculum to support child development, strengthen parenting skills, and connect families with valuable community resources.

Now certified to provide Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS), Paola works alongside individuals to develop personalized recovery plans, coordinate care, connect clients with essential resources, and promote independence, stability, and overall well-being. She is committed to delivering compassionate, person-centered services while empowering each individual to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

Front Desk Associate 

Vanessa Carrasco

I serve as the Front Desk Associate at Luminous Mind, where I strive to make every client feel welcomed, comfortable, and supported from the moment they arrive. I am currently pursuing a degree in Medical Assisting and bring experience in customer service, insurance verification, medical billing, and front office operations. I take pride in providing compassionate service, staying organized, and helping create a positive experience for the individuals and families we serve. I am honored to be part of a team dedicated to improving the well-being of our community.

LMSW Therapist

Danya Parson

Danya Parson is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care. She specializes in working with individuals experiencing trauma, depression, and anxiety, creating a supportive and welcoming environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Danya is passionate about helping clients navigate life’s challenges, develop healthy coping skills, and work toward meaningful personal growth. Her approach focuses on meeting each client where they are while providing the support and tools needed to promote healing, resilience, and overall emotional well-being.

Megan Maiella

Megan Maiella is a Master of Social Work Intern completing her internship with our Community Comprehensive Support Services (CCSS) Program. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at New Mexico State University.

Megan brings experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, with a strong foundation in active listening, behavioral support, advocacy, and building meaningful connections. She is passionate about supporting individuals as they work toward greater independence, stability, and overall well-being.

Through her CCSS internship, Megan will continue developing her skills in community-based support, resource coordination, advocacy, and person-centered care while helping clients work toward their individual goals.
